Artist Statement

Visual imagery is evident in all facets of our existence. My purpose with my photography and artwork is to create pieces that evoke emotion in the observer.  Each piece has been fashioned from my observations and artistic license to convey an exacting sensation at a moment in time.

In this medium I can be very expressive and I feel that my influences are varied and centered around photographers and artists that boast an extensive range of subject material in addition to an infinite inventiveness.  I am also developing my own technique regarding the relationship of photography while exploring the height of originality.  My works of art range from minimalist landscapes to chaotic visualizations of the focus subject.

I want to stimulate the viewer to experience the elements contained within the piece and connect to their own instinctual traditions.  I sometimes augment the images that I capture with my camera with Photoshop in order to achieve a more vibrant amplification of the subject matter.

Depending on the final iconic image, the material substrate chosen will be representative of the breath and depth of the subject matter. These images have a varied size range reliant upon the scope in which they were produced and under the circumstances that they were created for albeit for a private collector or part of an on going series.

When the wonders of the world present themselves to me in the most unusual ways I strive to capture their brief coexistence with me to preserve this moment in time. After surviving and in the process of recovering from a serious accident, I feel that feel the essence of the moment in my soul and translate that into a visual image in my photographs.
